Apnea is <strong><em>short periods (usually between 10 and 30 seconds) where people stop breathing<\/em><\/strong>. The abbreviation ComSA is used to avoid confusion with the central sleep apnea abbreviation CSA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:27px\"><strong>Treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The first step for effective sleep apnea treatment is establishing an accurate diagnosis. If your doctor is unable to make a diagnosis based off of your symptoms, then a sleep study may be performed.
