The fix isn&#8217;t ditching your phone, but changing how you use it: lifting your screen to eye level and taking frequent &#8220;micro-breaks&#8221; to stretch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Look around any coffee shop, bus stop, or living room, and you\u2019ll see the same posture: head down, shoulders rounded, eyes glued to a smartphone. It\u2019s become so common we don&#8217;t even notice it, but our spines definitely do. At a 45-degree angle (typical for texting), that 12-pound head exerts about <strong>60 pounds<\/strong> of force on your neck muscles and discs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reversing the Curve<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You don&#8217;t have to throw your smartphone in the ocean to find relief. Small habit changes make a huge difference:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Elevate Your Screen:<\/strong> Stop looking down! Hold your phone up at eye level. If you work on a laptop, put it on a stack of books or use a stand so you aren&#8217;t hunching over the keyboard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The &#8220;Chin Tuck&#8221;:<\/strong> This is the anti-tech-neck exercise. Pull your chin straight back (like you&#8217;re making a &#8220;double chin&#8221;) to align your ears over your shoulders. Hold for 5 seconds. Do this whenever you check your email.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The 20-Minute Rule:<\/strong> Every 20 minutes, look up from your screen, roll your shoulders back, and gently tilt your head side to side.
